Ethical & Effective Sourcing
We are passionate about bringing ideas and supplier partners together to create profound experiences that generate better outcomes for our clients, as well as the communities and environments we live in.
Intro
Our commitment to ethical and effective sourcing goes beyond using recyclable materials, avoiding single use products and adhering to ethical and modern slavery practices. Working with local supplier partners and enterprises requires an understanding that:
- timelines are longer
- the value equation is different
- more support is required to provide guidance through unfamiliar processes to ensure success
We select partners based on suitability to the idea/ project, which means that pricing mechanisms are specific to the job at hand.

Waste reduction
For Woolworths Group’s 25 Year Club events, we wanted to go beyond the expected of using flowers as table centrepieces. We worked with garden nurseries in every state – as well as four regions of New Zealand – to create green centrepieces with native tubestock. Plants were individually packaged in jute bags, tagged and displayed in timber crates. All materials were recyclable, right down to the tagging fastener. Guests were invited to take a plant home with them, and any remaining plants were donated to local Landcare groups. More than 6,000 native plants were given to guests and Landcare groups, creating more beautiful and biodiverse environments. Guests loved receiving their plants, as well as the social interaction as they swapped species to better suit their own gardens.

Social enterprises
In 2023 and 2024, we worked with Caringbah Craft Centre and West Moonah Community Shed to create Woolworths Supermarkets Trade Partner of the Year trophies. In 2025 we worked with Nigretta of Hamilton in Western Victoria. These are NDIS, not-for-profit, social enterprise woodwork shops that provide skills to people with disability. The woodwork shops created trophies using sustainably grown or recycled timbers. We paid commercial rates for the labour, plus a donation to support the ongoing good work of the enterprise. The unique stories of these trophies were told on stage at the Trade Partner of the Year Awards. These have been rewarding experiences for clients and the wonderful people at these organisations. Trade Partners have been inspired to reach out to these enterprises for support with similar projects.

Social enterprises
In 2024, we partnered with Australian manufacturers and designers to create a wide range of merchandise. We helped our suppliers meet all deadlines and achieve volumes they hadn’t produced before. Our partnerships included:
- Drink bottles made from 100% sugarcane, with carbon neutral and zero waste manufacturing processes in Melbourne.
- Woollen koala bears and kiwis manufactured in Tasmania at one of Australia’s oldest textile factories. The merchandise created meaningful employment for people with disability and was filled using offcuts from their main production work of school jumpers.
- Blackwood cheeseboards manufactured in Tasmania from sustainably grown timbers. The timbers were milled by a 100-yearold company in the State’s North West, before being dressed, finished and engraved by a local company in Northern Tasmania.

We work with food rescue organisations OzHarvest and Food Bank for the collection of appropriate leftover food after events, which supports people in need.
