Road Safety Advisory Council
Speed is a major cause of crashes in Tasmania. A total of 516 people were killed or seriously injured in crashes in which speed was a factor in the five years to October 2011.
Our challenge was to engage and empower everyday Tasmanians to take some ownership of the speeding issue: to take the first step in making speeding socially unacceptable.
We sourced real stories from real people who have been affected by road trauma. Their stories told straight to camera were confronting, raw and emotional. Their instruction was simple: speak up against speeding and confront risk-taking drivers.
